jesus boats
Most of the tourist groups visiting israel, the holyland, take a boat on the sea of galilee, as this is the area jesus' message and teaching began.

In 1986, buried in the mud of the sea of galilee an ancient boat of the time of jesus (first century) was found. People call it "the jesus' boat". This boat is now preserved in the museum of kibbutz ginosar.

We have built wooden sailing boats which are similar to this jesus boat, reconstructed with the help of historians. The boats are specially built in such a way that religious praying or sermons can be held.
We have on the boats, fishermen's nets similar as those used by simon/peter and will demonstrate how they were used.

We will sail along the coast of genesaret, viewing from the boat: tabgha (heptapegon), peter's primacy, bay of sermon from the boat. Then to capernaum, we will slow the boats down wherever your toureader wishes, so that he may be able to give a lecture, sermon or prayer in whichever area he would like, as we will have enough time to do so.
The sailing will be about one hour.

The sail boats have a latest model fully equipped engine specially designed in order to be soundproof. These engines are for back up purposes, when the winds are not favorable for sailing.

Our main object is to have these sail boats as quiet as possible so that the tourist can truly feel the peace and tranquilty of the sea of galilee.

Today we have seven boats: JOHN, MATTHEW, MARK, SIMON, NOAH, PAUL, LUKE, there are four boats with room for 55 tourists on board and three boats with room for 115 tourists on board.

We are sure your people will always remember their sailing trip on the sea of galilee as a highlight of their israel tour-holyland pilgrimage.

The "Jesus boat" was found along the shore of magdala. It was discovered buried in the mud after a long drought in 1986. This boat can be visited at the museum in Kibbutz Ginosar.

After such an incredible discovery, both reuben ben dori and yehuda smadar were inspired and went on to construct wooden boats similar to "the Jesus boats" in order to create the emotional atmosphere in which to pray,- medidate and remember how "he" preached on the Sea of Galilee

"AND WHEN HE WAS ENTERED INTO THE SHIP HIS DISCIPLES FOLLOWED HIM." MATTHEW VII 23

EACH BOAT HAS A FISHERMAN'S NET AND WE DEMONSTRATE HOW THESE NETS WERE USED.

"AND HE SAID TO THEM CAST THE NET ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BOAT AND YE SHALL FIND" JOHN XXI 6

After the trip, each pilgrim receives a certificate.
